Mission

The Pastoral Council is a consultative body to the Pastor and is governed by the Constitution and Bylaws of the Pastoral Council as well as the norms established by the Archbishop of Hartford.

Purpose of the Council

The purpose of the council is to act as an advisory board to the pastor, and to promote communication and understanding among parish organizations. In fostering communication and understanding, the Council initiates organizational dialogue among parish leadership. It may provide recommendations about priorities and direction of the parish through pastoral planning. In doing so, the Council is to become the means of achieving full participation by the whole parish in its mission by giving all a voice in guiding and directing parish life. The Council encourages life of the parish community, is a sign and witness to the larger community, and acts as a liaison between clergy and laity. It initiates and supports parish ministries as well as other programs of social, civic, and education and moral benefit.
