The Pastoral Council is a consultative body to the Pastor and is governed by the Constitution and Bylaws of the Pastoral Council as well as the norms established by the Archbishop of Hartford.
|
|
|
The
purpose of the council is to act as an advisory
board to the pastor, and to promote communication
and understanding among parish organizations.
In fostering communication and understanding,
the Council initiates organizational dialogue
among parish leadership. It may provide recommendations
about priorities and direction of the parish through
pastoral planning. In doing so, the Council is
to become the means of achieving full participation
by the whole parish in its mission by giving all
a voice in guiding and directing parish life.
The Council encourages life of the parish community,
is a sign and witness to the larger community,
and acts as a liaison between clergy and laity.
It initiates and supports parish ministries as
well as other programs of social, civic, and education
and moral benefit.

The September meeting is held on the first Tuesday
due to the Labor Day weekend. There is no meeting
scheduled in January. All meetings are open to
all parish members. The meetings begin promptly
at 7:15PM in the rectory meeting room.
All meetings begin with prayer and
reflection. The minutes of the prior meeting are
reviewed, amended if needed, and approved for

a report of what their committee or organization
has been doing and what they are planning to do
in the future. This is followed by questions from
members of the Council. The Council will then
discuss Old and New Parish Business as well as
