Engaged couples wishing to celebrate
the Sacrament of Marriage are asked to contact
the parish office (387-7119) at least six months
prior to the date of the celebration. Generally,
weddings are celebrated on Friday and Saturday.
The last Saturday wedding time is 2:30 PM.
The preparation program will include
the administration of “Facilitating Open
Couple Communication, Understanding and Study.”
At another session the FOCUS will be reviewed,
the couples’ biographical information will
be on record and assistance will be given to plan
a truly faith-filled ceremony. Rehearsal is usually
the day before the wedding ceremony, but this
need not always be the case.

A Wedding at Assumption
Church |

|
| We
extend to the couple the freedom to invite any
ordained priest or deacon to officiate at the
ceremony. In cases where the bride or groom is
of another denomination or ecclesial community,
we welcome their minister or rabbi to participate.
Kindly notify the priest, deacon and guest who
will participate at the ceremony. This will help
to avoid any scheduling conflicts. The officiant
will wish to meet with the couple prior to the
ceremony.
The parish of Our Lady of the Assumption
has a professional music director who will arrange
musical selections with the couple. Mr. Keith
Smolinksi, (389-1712) should be contracted after
making initial contact with the rectory office.
The preparation program is moderated
by married couples of the parish. Their insight,
presence and support will help the couple make
their wedding meaningful and a truly faith-filled
experience. |
