Faith, Hope, and Charity Committee

Faith, Hope, and Charity Committee

is committed to embrace, illuminate, and inspire the fulfillment of the second greatest commandment: love your
neighbor as yourself. They
nurture spiritual growth and
that of our parish family by serving the needs of individuals and families within the parish and surrounding communities. The committee meets
monthly September through June.

Outreach activities for the poor include food collections, the
Christmas Angel tree project of toys and gifts donated by
parishioners to local needy organizations, and twice a year
fundraising breakfasts to
finance these endeavors.

Volunteer help is needed to sort donated food. People are needed to sort and wrap Christmas gifts from the Angel Tree for the var-
ious organizations who requested aid.

Volunteers are needed to help set up the church hall for the breakfasts by organizing tables, arranging table settings, and serving food.

All ages high school and above are welcome and community
service hours can be earned.

Good Samaritan Packs

Matthew 25:35

For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

The Social Action Committee is sponsoring an ongoing project “Good Samaritan Packs” to distribute some basic necessities to the homeless that often stand at exit ramps or street corners.  If you could fill a gallon size plastic bag with some of the following items, it would be a wonderful help to this endeavor.  Some suggestions include:

-a bottle of water or a juice box

-a $5 gift certificate to Subway, or nutrition bar, or small packaged chips, cookies

-small hand sanitizer

-toothbrush, toothpaste, floss

-sample soap, shampoo

-disposable facial mask

-pair of socks

-inspirational note

A special marked container will be located in the church foyer for your generous donations.  We invite parishioners to take some packs to distribute to the homeless if you encounter someone on a street corner or highway ramp.  Thank you for your help in advance.
